What is Augmented Reality(AR)? & How Does it Works ?.

what is AR?:

Augmented reality is a technology that projects computer-generated augmentation(graphics) on top of reality. One of the best examples of AR is Snapchat filters.

History of AR:

Augmented Reality technology was invented in 1957 to some extent Morton Heilig.

He invented the Sensorama which delivered sound, visuals, vibration, and smell to the viewer

  • In 1968 Ivan Sutherland, a Harward professor, and computer scientist created the first head-mounted display called the "Sword of Damocles."

  • In 1974 Myron Kruger, a computer researcher and artist, built a laboratory at the University of Connecticut called 'Videoplace' that was entirely dedicated to artificial reality.
  • In 1990 Tom Caudell, a Boeing researcher, coined the term 'Augmented Reality'
  • In 1992 Louis Rosenburg, a researcher in the USAF Armstrong's Research Lab, created ‘Virtual Fixtures’, which was one of the first fully functional augmented reality systems.

Augmented Reality is among the fastest growing and fascinating technologies today. Many companies investing big in the field of Augmented reality. After 5/6 years we will witness the drastic change in technologies which will include Augmented Reality. Now a days large number of people have access to Digital devices and that is going to be a very important part of augmented reality.

Let's talk about one example, You might have Played a Pokemon Go Game where we have to catch pokemon. when we look at it we will understand how they have used augmented reality in-game. we need to catch the pokemon and that game shows us where is the pokemon it shows pokemon in a real place like it is really present there. so that is augmented reality where we impose whatever we have to show on real objects.

eg of Pokemon Go Game

Another example is Ikey furniture app where you can see that if you have to buy furniture for your house and you want to see how it is going to look at various places inside the room before buying it then you just have to open your mobile phone camera and have to select the furniture you want to buy and it will show you how it is actually going to look inside your room by using Augmented reality.

Augmented reality helps people to impose imaginary objects on the real world. augmented reality will help in healthcare, education, transportation, gaming, and many more fields.

Augmented Reality is one of the parts of immersive Technologies which are grown rapidly in the past few years and many companies are investing billions of Dollars in this technology.  so first we will look upon what are the various types of immersive technologies.

Immersive Technologies:
1) Augmented Reality (AR)
2) Virtual Reality(VR)
3) Mixed Reality(MR)

What is Metaverse

You must have heard that Facebook Has Changed its company to "META", and You might have too many questions in your mind about Metaverse, Like what is metaverse, Why Facebook has changed Its company name, and so on.   Scientific Definition of Metaverse-                   "A virtual-reality space in which users can interact with a computer-generated environment and other users." So What is a metaverse, Metaverse is like a VR ( virtual reality ) where you can play games and all the stuff but the difference here is you can actually be a real character of the game and you can play like you are in the game and you can even touch and feel the things in the game, it is like a Disney world and you are one of all the characters. You just have to put your Meta headsets on and you can jump into the virtual world. Even you can design the virtual places however you like, Meta has come with the feature where you c...

Machine Learning                          You have seen How rapidly technologies are changing and developing in this digital era and Machin Learning is one of them, You might have come across machine learning too many times. Even if we Consider Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, all these social media apps use machine learning to process and understand users' data, like what is user interest, Which type of ads, and content users like to watch. also, you might have come across weather detection applications or apps, these applications also use machine learning to predict the weather.                            So let's start with the scientific definition of Machine Learning. What is Artificial Intelligence? How does AI works? | Artificial intelligence | Types of Artificial Intelligence | How Does AI Works?

Artificial Intelligence                                             Artificial intelligence is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concern with building smart machines that will behave like humans. AI gives the ability to machines to do all tasks that humans can do. Artificial intelligence uses machine learning and deep learning to detect objects or to process natural languages. AI has the ability to build robots completely like humans that will completely be like humans and can do all human tasks.                                        AI is a technique of getting machines to work and behave like humans. Nowadays AI is getting used in a wide range. How google give accurate results? Google uses Artificial intelligence to give accurate search results. AI is getting perf...
